Kvika banki hf., together with its subsidiaries, provides investment banking, asset management, payment, and banking services to businesses, investors, and individuals in Iceland and the United Kingdom. The company operates through Asset Management, Commercial Banking, Investment Banking, and UK Operations segments. The Asset Management segment offers asset management services involving both domestic and foreign assets, private banking, and private pension plans. The Commercial Banking segment provides general banking services and related advisory services; loans and lease agreements for car, heavy machinery, and other equipment loans to individuals and companies; mortgages; and payment services. The Investment Banking segment operates in capital markets, which provide services in securities and foreign exchange brokerage; corporate finance, which provides advice on the acquisition, sale, and merger of companies; and corporate lending, which provides specialized lending to finance such real estate, securities transactions, and other investments. The UK Operations segment engages in asset management and corporate finance services in the United Kingdom. The company was formerly known as MP banki hf. and changed its name to Kvika banki hf. in October 2015. The company was incorporated in 2002 and is headquartered in Reykjavík, Iceland.
