Inter Pipeline Ltd. engages in the transportation, processing, and storage of energy products in Western Canada and Europe. The company operates through four segments: Transportation, Facilities Infrastructure, Marketing, and New Ventures. The Transportation segment operates oil sands pipelines that include the Cold Lake, Corridor, and Polaris systems; conventional oil pipelines, which comprise the Bow River, Milk River, Central Alberta, and Mid-Saskatchewan systems; and bulk liquid storage terminals in Denmark and Sweden under the Inter Terminals Nordics brand. The Facilities Infrastructure segment owns and operates assets that provide NGL, offgas, and petrochemical products and services. The Marketing segment manages the logistics and sale of products not produced under fee-based or cost-of-service agreements, as well as engages in pipeline and facility optimization opportunities. The New Ventures segment operates a heartland petrochemical complex, an integrated complex that consists of a propane dehydrogenation plant and polypropylene plant, and a co-generation central utilities block. The company was formerly known as Inter Pipeline Fund and changed its name to Inter Pipeline Ltd. in September 2013. The company was founded in 1997 and is based in Calgary, Canada.
