Interest rates were higher, with the yield at 1.685%, up from 1.622% on Monday. were down slightly.
Tech stocks were mostly lower, although Apple (NASDAQ:) was up slightly ahead of its event to unveil new iPhone models and other new products. Microsoft (NASDAQ:) and Adobe Systems (NASDAQ:) were off more than 1%.
