Dow futures extend gains after positive session, HP drops 6.5% after earnings

Investing.com - U.S stock futures were little changed on Tuesday evening after major benchmark indices posted gains throughout regular trading, after closely watched CB consumer confidence data came in weaker than expected, boosting bets of a Fed pause.

By 6:50pm ET (10:50pm GMT) Dow Jones Futures, S&P 500 Futures and Nasdaq 100 Futures were each up by 0.1%.

In extended deals, HP Inc (NYSE:HPQ) moved 6.5% lower after reporting EPS of $0.86, in-line with expectations, while revenues came in at $13.2 billion versus $13.38 billion expected

Bank of Montreal (NYSE:BMO) was little changed after reporting EPS of $2.78 versus $3.15 expected on revenues of $7.9 billion versus $8.08 billion expected.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co (NYSE:HPE) dipped 1.1%, after the company reported EPS $0.49 versus $0.47, while revenues came in at $7 billion versus $6.99 billion expected.

Nio Inc Class A ADR (NYSE:NIO) ticked 0.1% higher after reporting losses of $3.28 per share versus expected losses of $2.96 per share, while revenues also disappointed at $8.77 billion versus $9.16 billion expected.

JM Smucker Company (NYSE:SJM) was flat after reporting EPS of $2.21 versus $2.02 expected, on revenues of $1.81 billion versus $1.84 billion expected.

Ahead in Wednesday's trade, market participants will be watching for ADP nonfarm employment change and pending home sales data, as well as preliminary GDP figures, goods trade balance, and wholesale inventories.

During Tuesday's regular trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 292.7 points or 0.9% to 34,852.7, the S&P 500 gained 64.3 points or 1.5% to 4,497.6 and the NASDAQ Composite lifted 238.6 points or 1.7% to 13,943.8.

On the bond markets, United States 10-Year rates eased to 4.127%.
