(Bloomberg) -- Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Health Minister Christine Elliott tested negative for Covid-19.
The two leaders in Canada’s most populous province got tested after Education Minister Stephen Lecce came in contact with someone who tested positive for coronavirus.
“Both Premier Ford and Minister Elliott have had no known contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, and as a result, there is no need for either of them to self-isolate,” Ivana Yelich, Ford’s press secretary, said in an emailed statement on Thursday.
Ford and Elliott didn’t appear at the premier’s daily Covid-19 update in Toronto on Wednesday.
Ontario has reported 31,544 cases of the virus and 2,487 deaths, with new daily cases up 0.6% as of Wednesday.
