Chinese electric automaker, Xpeng Inc (NYSE:XPEV) officially launched its G6 Ultra Smart Coupe SUV in China on Thursday, marking the inauguration of the first model based on its next-generation technology architecture, SEPA2.0.
Equipped with XNGP, XPENG's full-scenario ADAS solution, and XPower, XPENG's 800V powertrain system, the G6 is priced between 209,900 RMB (RMB 1 = $0.1379) to 276,900 RMB, a 20% discount compared with Tesla Inc's (NASDAQ:TSLA) Model Y. Initial deliveries for the G6 are set to begin in July for customers in China.
"XPENG G6 embodies our unwavering commitment to technology innovation and reaffirms our mission to lead the mobility transformation," said Mr. He Xiaopeng, Chairman and CEO of XPENG. "We believe that our forward-looking technology roadmap and vision for making innovative technology accessible to the mass market firmly position XPENG as an industry trendsetter and leader in customer satisfaction."
According to a June 9 tweet, the G6 received more than 25,000 pre-orders in the first three days following its online release.
Shares of XPEV are down 0.76% in afternoon trading on Thursday.
