Sept 9 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening 29
points lower at 5,902 on Wednesday, according to financial bookmakers.
* ASTRAZENECA: AstraZeneca Plc AZN.L on Tuesday said it has paused global
trials, including large late-stage trials, of its experimental coronavirus
vaccine because of an unexplained illness in a study participant. * BARCLAYS: Investment banker Francesco Ceccato is taking the helm of
Barclays' Irish unit, where the bulk of its European business has shifted in
recent years following Britain's vote to leave the EU, according to an internal
memo seen by Reuters. * IAG: Shareholders backed IAG's ICAG.L plan to raise 2.75 billion euros
($3.25 billion) in equity at a virtual meeting on Tuesday that saw the airline
group's long-time CEO Willie Walsh hand over to insider Luis Gallego.
* The UK blue-chip index .FTSE ended 0.1% down on Tuesday as weak oil
prices hurt major energy stocks, while losses in the mid-cap index were
mitigated by Royal Mail, which rose after it flagged a boost from e-commerce.
