Crypto Eri, a prominent figure within the XRP community, in a recent tweet, countered claims that the R3 Corda Settler uses XRP or XRPL for settlements. The tweet came in response to growing speculations that The Swiss Central Bank plans to utilize XRP through Corda for its CBDC.
In the tweet, Eri clarified that the only time XRP was used on Corda was in 2018-2019, but as a proof of concept only. She continued that Corda is an open-source software that can utilize any digital assets. “Anyone can deploy any asset they wish. This does mean R3 is using XRP,” she said.
Furthermore, she stated that Corda can use XRP, although their primary settlement token is XDC. She continued by referencing a tweet analysis from popular crypto community figure Moonchaser, which cleared up the claims. Moonchaser said:
