MANILA, June 8 (Reuters) -
* Myanmar offered the lowest price at a Philippine tender to
import up to 300,000 tonnes of 25% broken rice in a
government-to-government deal, but only for a small volume of
33,000 tonnes, bids opened on Monday showed
* The Myanmar Rice Federation offered a price of $489.25 a
tonne,
including insurance, shipping and other costs, the lowest among
offers that included those from Vietnam, India and Thailand
* The Philippine bidding panel, however, said it would
evaluate
the offers first, including the bidders' eligibility and
technical documents, before declaring the winners
* Through state-owned Vinafood 1, the Philippines'
traditional
biggest rice supplier Vietnam submitted the lowest price offers
of $497.30 a tonne and $540 a tonne for lots totalling 163,500
tonnes
* The National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation
of
India Ltd, of the world's top exporter, offered the lowest
prices of $484.70 a tonne and $485.70 a tonne for lots totalling
96,000 tonnes
* Thailand's Department of Foreign Trade submitted a bid for
a
single lot but it was the highest at $541 a tonne
* Delivery of the rice purchases is expected to be completed
by
Aug. 14, extended from the original schedule of July 22
