Xpeng Motors (NYSE:XPEV) announced Thursday that their XPENG G9 electric vehicle has become the first Chinese branded vehicle to win "People's Favorite 2024" in Norway's renowned “Car of The Year” awards.
"People's Favorite" is part of the esteemed “Car of the Year 2024” award, an event orchestrated for the nineteenth consecutive year by Dagbladet in partnership with media outlets Dinside and Elbil24.
Over the course of a month, readers from Dagbladet, Dinside, and Elbil24 in Norway cast their votes for their preferred car, with the XPENG G9 emerging victorious with an impressive 15.22% of the vote."

Since its introduction to customers earlier this year, the XPENG G9 has swiftly climbed the ranks to become the sixth most registered electric car in Norway as of November 2023.
This vehicle introduces cutting-edge EV technology to Europe, featuring XPENG's latest powertrain system equipped with an 800 V Silicon Carbide (SiC) platform, enabling lightning-fast charging capabilities of up to 300 kW. With this system, drivers can conveniently add up to 100 km of range in just five minutes.
Among the seven other nominees contending for this honor, the XPENG G9 has advanced to the final stage of the "Car of the Year 2024" selection process. The ultimate winner will be unveiled on December 5th.
Shares of XPEV are down 2.62% in mid-day trading on Thursday.
