Total shipment of Tesla’s (TSLA) China-made electric vehicles (EVs) in June declined by 24.2% year-over-year to 71,007 units, according to Bloomberg calculation based on preliminary data released by China’s Passenger Car Association.
TSLA shares fell 1.4% in premarket trading Tuesday.
Deliveries of Tesla’s China-made Model 3 and Model Y cars dropped 2.2% compared to May shipments.
China’s new-energy passenger vehicle wholesales in June are estimated to rise 28% year-over-year or 8% month-on-month, to 970,000 units.
BYD, Tesla’s biggest competitor in China sold 340,211 passenger vehicles in June, up 35.2% compared to a year ago.
