Stocks fell again Monday with the Nasdaq closing at a two-year low. Despite the sell-off, several rumors drove trading action in some select stocks today. Below we highlighted a few:
Independent oil company Denbury (NYSE:DEN) jumped 7% today following a StreetInsider.com report that the company was in talks with a "strategic buyer." Bloomberg News later reported that the buyer in question was Exxon Mobil (NYSE:XOM).
Qiagen (NYSE:QGEN) gained 3% on reports from the Wall Street Journal that the company is in talks to merge with Bio-Rad Laboratories Inc (NYSE:BIO). A deal, which could be worth more than $10 billion, is still likely weeks away, the report added. Bio-Rad Labs fell over 8% today on the rumors.
Boeing (NYSE:BA) gained 1.6% today on word that a 737 MAX flight landed in China for the first time since March 2019.
