MANILA, Oct 6 (Reuters) - The Philippines' annual inflation
slowed to 2.3% in September PHCPI=ECI , from the prior month's
2.4%, as price pressures eased on the heavily weighted food and
non-alcoholic beverage index, the statistics agency said on
Tuesday.
The headline figure was below the 2.4% reading in a Reuters'
poll and well within the central bank's forecast range of
1.8%-2.6% for the month.
Core inflation, which excludes volatile food and fuel
prices, was 3.2% versus 3.1% in August PHCPXY=ECI .
