MANILA, Jan 22 (Reuters) -
* Philippine agriculture output grew at an annual pace of
0.4% in
the last quarter of 2019, the country's statistics agency said
on Wednesday, slower than the previously reported 2.9% gain in
the September quarter
* The Southeast Asian country's crops output, which
accounted for
half of total production in the December quarter, rose 1.0% as
paddy rice harvest increased 4.7%, the Philippine Statistics
Authority said
* Livestock output dropped 8.5% as hog production shrank
9.8%
during the quarter amid an outbreak of African swine fever virus
in some backyard farms
* Poultry output rose 5.4% and fisheries gained 3.4%
* The government will release fourth-quarter GDP data on
Thursday,
with year-on-year growth seen accelerating to 6.5% from 6.2% in
the September quarter, based on a Reuters' poll of analysts
* Agriculture in recent quarters accounted for less than 10%
of
the country's GDP
