MANILA, Aug 5 (Reuters) -
* Philippine agricultural output grew at an annual pace of
0.5% in
the second quarter of 2020, led by crops and fisheries, the
country's statistics agency said on Wednesday
* The Southeast Asian country's crops output, which
accounted for
around half of the sector's total production, rose 5.0%, as the
paddy rice harvest grew 7.1%, the Philippine Statistics
Authority said
* Fisheries output rose 0.9%, while livestock contracted by
8.5%
and poultry production went down by 4.7%
* The government will release second-quarter GDP data on
Thursday.
Agriculture usually accounts for less than 10% of overall
economic output
