Biography | Julianne is a senior portfolio manager and Newton’s head of sustainable equities. As an experienced investor, she has been integral in identifying resources to support and enhance the integration of sustainability considerations into the firm’s investment practices. Julianne manages a selection of global and regional equity mandates. She is the lead portfolio manager for the BNY Mellon Large Cap Securities Fund, leveraging the global research team to deliver capital growth by investing in high quality US companies with strong positions in their industries. Julianne has led the Emerging Markets Research Fund since its inception in February 2014. She also serves as a portfolio manager for Newton’s Global Research Equity and Global First Decade Innovators strategies. Julianne joined Newton in September 2021, following the integration of Mellon Investments Corporation’s equity and multi-asset capabilities into the Newton Investment Management Group. Before joining Newton, Julianne was a senior portfolio manager and senior research analyst at Mellon Investments Corporation and The Boston Company Asset Management (both BNY Mellon group companies). Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Julianne was an equity analyst at State Street Research & Management. Biography | Nick is a portfolio manager, leading on the global, international and US sustainable strategies. He joined Newton in 2011 as part of the global research team, where he was the analyst responsible for the insurance, real estate and asset management sectors. Nick moved across to the portfolio management team in 2021 to co-lead manage the Asian Income strategy, while also contributing his experience in analysing financial stocks to the wider global income investment process. He assumed responsibility for the sustainable strategies in 2022. Prior to joining Newton in 2011, he acquired a range of experience across the industry, auditing insurers at Ernst & Young and as a European insurance equity analyst at Jefferies International. Nick is a chartered accountant, and holds a first-class honours degree in Microbiology from the University of Edinburgh. Outside of work, Nick has a young family and, in the unlikely event he finds extra time alongside this, he is a keen golfer and beleaguered supporter of Tottenham Hotspur football club. | ||

Biography | Paul is one of Newton’s most experienced equity investors, managing a selection of global and regional equity mandates. In addition to portfolio management responsibilities, Paul helps shape Newton’s global thematic process as a co-chair of the ‘healthy demand’ group, which establishes the thematic backdrop to set the scene for potential investment opportunities across healthcare and related areas. He has been a member of the team responsible for managing global equity portfolios since June 2001. Prior to joining Newton in 1998, Paul worked in capital markets for Morgan Stanley. | ||

Biography | Simon joined Newton in 2001 and was responsible for research into a number of global industrial sectors before moving to portfolio management. Simon’s experience includes managing global, multi-asset, charity and UK equity portfolios. Simon is a chartered accountant (ACA) and prior to joining Newton he worked in both audit and insolvency practices at leading accountancy firms. He is a CFA charterholder, a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (MCSI), and also holds a BA (Hons) degree in Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham. Biography | Charles French is a Portfolio Manager of the Global Social Leaders Fund. Mr. French joined IAM as Deputy Chief Investment Officer in 2022. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. French worked at Newton Investment Management where he started out as a global financial analyst before becoming a portfolio manager and heading up Newton’s multi-asset and equity opportunities teams. While at Newton, he also served as deputy chief investment officer, providing leadership and oversight to a global investment team. Mr. French graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Nottingham. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAEW) in England and Wales. | ||

Jeff has a BA, has completed an MBA, and is a CFA1 charterholder and a member of the UK Society of Investment Professionals (UKSIP).
