Chantana co-leads portfolios within Comgest’s Asia ex Japan, Asia including Japan and Japanese equity strategies, and has been an important contributor to the development of these strategies. Based in Paris, she travels regularly to Japan to research companies and spend time with the Tokyo-based team members. Chantana holds an MSc in Finance from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business in New York, a dual diploma with The American University of Paris.

Biography Makoto Egami joined Comgest in 2013 and is a Tokyo-based Analyst and Portfolio Manager specialising in Japanese equities. He started his career in 2001 at JP Morgan Chase in Tokyo as a credit Analyst and went on to work for US-based Taiyo Pacific Partners as an investment professional before moving on to Macquarie as a Japanese small-mid cap Analyst. Makoto also held the position of senior industry Analyst at Google Japan. He graduated from Keio University with a BA in Economics and holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management (USA), as well as the CMA from the Securities Analysts Association of Japan.

Biography Vincent Strauss joined Comgest in 1994 and is today CEO of the firm and Chairman of Comgest Global Investors.Vincent started his career at Crédit Commercial de France where he was instrumental in expanding the bank’s provision of corporate finance services. In 1982, he joined Banque Indosuez where he became lead Portfolio Manager of the bank’s Asian equities portfolios. He was then a Director at Batif before moving to Multifinance International and then to Comgest.
Chakara Sisowath Portfolio Manager 2001 2005
Biography He started his career as a fund manager for the Européenne de Banque in 1987, and went on to work for Fidelity Management & Research Co. and Natwest Securities Asia as a senior analyst. In 1998 he became Head of Research for Crédit Lyonnais International Asset Management in Tokyo, responsible for Japan as well as Korea, China and Taiwan. He joined Comgest in May 2001 as a portfolio manager and an analyst.
