Tom also received the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Prior to joining the firm, he was founder and manager of Dewey, Johnson & Company. He has worked in the municipal-bond business since 1955. Johnson has originated three television talk shows, hosted a radio talk show and was a co-founder of Intellectual Digest magazine.
