Biography Mr. Balcells is an executive vice president and portfolio manager in the Munich office. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2012, he was employed at Rogge Capital Partners where he was the head of emerging markets and worked at Harvard Management Company focusing on emerging markets local rate and currency investments. Mr. Balcells also worked at the International Monetary Fund between 2002 and 2006, during which time he spent a year at PIMCO on secondment from the Fund. He holds a master's degree in international economics and European studies from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University. He received his undergraduate degree from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

Biography Mr. Haaf is a vice president and senior portfolio manager in the Munich office, where he manages emerging market strategies. He joined Allianz Global Investors in 1998 and transferred to PIMCO in 2000. Previously, he was a fixed-income analyst focusing on European bond markets at DG Bank in Frankfurt. He has 21 years of investment experience and holds an MBA from the University of Würzburg, Germany. He is a member of the Deutsche Vereinigung für Finanzanalyse und Anlagenberatung (DVFA).

Biography Mr. Gomez is a managing director in the Newport Beach office, a portfolio manager and head of the emerging markets portfolio management team. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2003, he was responsible for market making and proprietary trading of emerging market bonds at Goldman Sachs. Prior to that, he spent a year in Colombia serving as a financial consultant to the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit. In addition, Mr. Gomez has served on numerous other committees providing advisory assistance to emerging market countries or a market practitioner’s perspective to index providers. He has 22 years of investment experience and holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he also received his undergraduate degree.

Biography Michael Discher-Remmlinger Mr. Discher-Remmlinger is a Senior Portfolio Manager in the European Fixed Income Credits and Emerging Markets group. He joined Allianz Dresdner Asset Management (DIT) in 1992. From 1992 until June of 1993 he was Portfolio Manager for German bond portfolios. Since July 1993 he has been Portfolio Manager with emphasis on Credit Research and Emerging Markets. He has 10 years of investment experience and holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Mannheim, Germany.
