Investing.com-- A Delta Air Lines Inc (NYSE:DAL) plane flipped upside down when landing at Toronto Pearson (LON:PSON) Airport on Monday due to high winds and a snowstorm, injuring about 18 of the 80 passengers on board.
Delta Air Lines Flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air, crashed while landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday afternoon, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement. All 80 passengers were evacuated, with a few sustaining critical injuries. There were no fatalities reported.
The plane was a CRJ-900, manufactured by Canada’s Bombardier Inc (TSX:BBDb).
The crash in Canada follows several aviation incidents in the U.S., where most recently, an Army helicopter collided with an American Airlines (NASDAQ:AAL) passenger jet in Washington D.C., killing 67 people.
10 people were also killed in a small plane crash in Alaska earlier in February.
