Investing.com -- Netflix Inc (NASDAQ:NFLX) said Wednesday it will be trialing a new feature that will mean subscribers will pay extra if they share the account with people outside their household.
The new feature will be on trial for members in Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru.
The features will allow members on the Standard and Premium plans to add sub-accounts for up to two people they do not live with. The sub-accounts will each have their own profile, personalized recommendations, login, and password
If the sub-account users then wish to set up their own account, they will be able to keep the viewing history, My List, and personalized recommendations.
Netflix closed Wednesday's session up 4%, adding to Tuesday's 3.85% rise.
